How To Register

Due to the extraordinary conditions we are under at the moment we are not currently registering new patients.

When we are in  a position to welcome new patients you will be invited for a new patient appointment to assess your dental needs.  It would be helpful for you to consider your main concerns, if any, before your appointment,

If you wish to choose to see a particular dentist please let the receptionist know so she can assist you fully. We will try to ensure you see the dentist of your choice, but it may not always be possible.

NHS vs Private

We are an NHS practice.  There are however some treatments that an unavailable under the NHS fee scale.  Also there will be times that aesthetic treatment is needed which would not normally fall under NHS remits.  In these situations treatment can be offered on a private fee per item scale. The different options can be discussed with your dentist at time if examination.

Referral for treatment

We pride ourselves on our links with our fellow dental professionals with specific areas of expertise.  Sometimes it is appropriate to attend specialist clinicians when treatment is outside our own expertise.  We refer to:

  • Perth Royal Infirmary – Oral surgery, orthodontics
  • Dundee dental hospital – Oral medicine, advanced restorative treatment
  • Blackhills – a private referral clinic – Implants
  • Perth Orthodontics – routine orthodontic treatment

NHS Inform

NHSinform is a very helpful resource if you have any questions about dental pain or problems.  It is a good idea to access it prior to calling NHS 24 to check for suggested protocol out of hours.  It can be found at www.nhsinform.com

NHS 24 triages all Out of hours calls (between 6.00 pm and 8.00 am and at weekends).  When appropriate appointments will be offered to attend Broxden Dental Centre or self care advice will be given before being able to contact us first thing the following morning.

Violent Patients

Kenney and Mackay Dental operate a Zero Tolerance Policy with regard to violence and abuse, and the practice has the right to remove violent patients from the list with immediate effect in order to safeguard practice staff, patients and others.

Violence in this context includes actual or threatened physical violence, or verbal abuse which leads to fear for a person’s safety. In this situation we are not obliged to notify the patient in writing of their removal from the list, and record in the patient’s dental record the fact of their removal and the circumstances leading to it.
